What the pack does
Sanding a floor properly takes two machines — and this pack has both. The drum sander strips the open floor, taking off old finish, paint and unevenness pass by pass; the edging sander finishes the perimeter, corners and any stairs the drum can’t reach, so the whole floor comes up evenly with no untouched border. It’s the most cost-effective way to do a complete room or a whole property, and it’s one booking, one delivery and one collection instead of two.
Two machines, one kit
8-inch drum floor sander — strips boards, parquet and block wood flat and ready to seal. See the drum sander on its own.
7-inch floor edging sander — finishes the edges, corners and stairs the drum can’t reach. See the edging sander on its own.
Abrasives are quoted with the hire — tell the desk your floor size and we’ll advise on grit grades and quantities when you book.
Cheaper than hiring the two separately
Hiring the two machines on their own comes to £42.99 + £32.99 = £75.98 a day. The pack is £64.99 a day +VAT — so you save around £11 a day, and more over a week. If you only need one machine, hire the 8-inch drum floor sander or the 7-inch floor edging sander on its own. For a full floor, the pack is the cost-effective choice.
Getting a clean finish
Do the open floor first with the drum sander, working coarse to fine; then finish the perimeter and corners with the edger, matching the same grit grades so the whole floor blends. Keep both machines moving at all times — a drum sander left sitting in one spot will dig in. Vac between grades so grit from the last pass doesn’t scratch the next, and the floor comes up evenly across the field and the edges.
How hire works

Floor sander & edger pack hire — common questions
Do I really need both machines?
For a full floor, yes. The drum sander can’t reach the edges and corners, and the edger isn’t built for the open floor. Together they do the whole job.
What’s in the pack?
Both machines — the 8-inch drum sander and the 7-inch edging sander. Ask the hire desk about abrasives for your floor when you book.
Is the pack cheaper than hiring the two separately?
Yes — it’s priced below the two day-rates added together (£42.99 + £32.99 = £75.98), and saves more over a week.
Will they run off a normal mains socket?
Yes — both run on 230V standard mains, the normal domestic supply. No transformer needed.
What if I only need one machine?
Hire the drum sander or the edging sander on its own — the pack is for when you need both for a complete floor.
