Carpet cleaner hire London — FAQs
Can I hire a Numatic CTD570-2 carpet cleaner in London?
Yes — the Numatic CTD570-2 carpet cleaner is available to hire from Hireload in London, with collection from Greenford UB6 by booking, or London delivery by booking. It’s a popular choice for end-of-tenancy carpet cleaning, office carpet refreshes and homeowner deep-cleaning where the carpet is suitable.
Is the Numatic CTD570-2 suitable for upholstery?
It can be used for fabric upholstery support where suitable — for example, fabric sofas, chairs and soft furnishings whose care label allows wet cleaning. Always check the manufacturer’s care label and run a small test patch on a hidden area before cleaning the full piece.
Can I use it on rugs?
Yes, on suitable rugs and entrance mats. Before cleaning, check the rug’s colour fastness, backing and any care instructions. Avoid wet cleaning on rugs that aren’t designed for it, such as some delicate or natural-fibre rugs — when in doubt, test a hidden area first or seek the manufacturer’s guidance.
Can it clean wet spills?
The CTD570-2 supports wet extraction cleaning where suitable, and can help lift liquid from suitable carpets and fabrics. For active leaks, electrical hazards or contaminated water, stop and assess safety first — call 020 3375 4048 if you’d like help thinking through the right approach before you hire.
Can I collect from Greenford UB6?
Yes. Carpet cleaner collection at Greenford UB6 is available by booking and is a convenient option for short hires across West London. Bring suitable transport — the carpet cleaner is a wheeled hire unit, so plan for boot space and any stairs at your end.
Do you deliver carpet cleaners in London?
Yes — London delivery by booking is available, with scheduled slots. Order ahead where possible, especially for end-of-tenancy carpet cleaner hire where timing is tight. Email info@hireload.co.uk with your postcode and dates for a delivery quote.
How long do carpets take to dry after cleaning?
Drying time depends on the carpet, room temperature, ventilation and how saturated the surface gets during cleaning. Plan for several hours of drying as a sensible default, and longer in cold or poorly ventilated rooms. For tight turnarounds, consider an air mover alongside the carpet cleaner.
What should I check before wet extraction cleaning?
Confirm the carpet, rug or fabric is suitable for wet cleaning, pre-vacuum to remove loose debris, allow enough drying time, ventilate the room, test delicate fabrics on a hidden patch first, and keep electrical safety in mind around wet floors and extension leads. If you’re unsure, call 020 3375 4048.
Do I need an air mover or dehumidifier after carpet cleaning?
For most domestic jobs, normal airflow and open windows are enough. For larger areas, heavy saturation, end-of-tenancy turnarounds or post-leak drying, you may want to add an air mover or a dehumidifier from Hireload to speed up drying.
Is this suitable for end-of-tenancy carpet cleaner hire?
Yes — the Numatic CTD570-2 is a popular choice for end-of-tenancy carpet cleaner hire across London. Landlords, tenants and cleaning teams use it to refresh carpets and fabric upholstery between tenants, where the carpet and fabric are suitable for wet cleaning. Plan around the cleaning deadline and drying time.
How much does carpet cleaner hire cost in London?
Live prices and hire periods are shown on the Numatic CTD570-2 product page. Cost depends on hire length, whether you collect from Greenford UB6 or book London delivery, and any add-ons. For longer projects, call 020 3375 4048 with your dates.

Using Your Carpet Cleaner: The 2-Minute Guide
Your machine: Numatic CTD570-2 · twin-motor spray extraction · wand and upholstery kit · standard 230V plug.
The golden rule
One wet pass. Then dry passes.
Soaked carpet is the number one mistake with these machines: it can take days to dry, smell musty and pull old stains back to the surface. Slow, patient strokes beat fast wet ones every time.
Quick start
Six steps and you’re cleaning
Vacuum the carpet first
Most carpet dirt is dry. This machine deep-cleans what a vacuum cannot — extracting over dry grit just makes mud.
Connect the hoses and wand
Click the vacuum hose and the solution line home, and give each a gentle tug. A half-clicked connector is the classic “nothing sprays” fault.
Fill the solution tank
Hand-hot tap water plus the low-foam carpet detergent, dosed exactly as its label says. More soap is not more clean.
Switch on both switches
VACUUM runs the suction, PUMP feeds the wand. Both on for carpet cleaning.
Work in slow, overlapping strips
Trigger held on the first pass, dry passes after. Overlap each strip by 5cm and work backwards towards the door.
Empty and refill together
Every time the solution tank needs a refill, empty the recovery tank at the same time. Never pour recovery water into the solution tank.
Know your switches
Two switches, one trigger
Runs the twin suction motors that lift dirty water into the recovery tank.
Feeds cleaning solution up to the wand — the trigger on the wand releases it. Never run the pump with an empty solution tank; it damages the pump.
Sprays solution onto the carpet while you pull the wand slowly backwards.
While it’s running
All of this is normal
Loud slurping sounds
That is dirty water travelling up the hose. Music, honestly.
The spray fades to nothing
The solution tank is empty — refill it, and empty the recovery tank at the same time.
Carpet looks darker afterwards
It is damp, not dirty — judge the colour once dry.
The recovery water is filthy
Good. That is what was living in your carpet.
Troubleshooting
Something not right? Start here
Written the way people actually describe it. Each fix takes about a minute.
“Nothing is spraying”
PUMP switch off, trigger not squeezed, solution tank empty, or a connector not clicked in.
Check the PUMP switch first. Hold the trigger a few seconds so the pump primes. Then check the tank and both connectors. Blocked jet? Soak it in warm water — never poke it with a pin.
“It’s not sucking anything up”
The recovery tank is full — a float cuts the suction — or the lid and hose are not seated.
Empty the recovery tank, seat the lid squarely, push the hose cuffs fully home.
“It’s full of foam”
Wrong or overdosed detergent — or old shampoo already in the carpet from past cleans.
Stop. Empty and rinse the recovery tank, carry on with plain water, and call us for defoamer advice. Foam can reach the motors.
“The carpet is still wet hours later”
Too many wet passes.
Go back over with dry passes only — no trigger. Windows open, heating on, keep off it until dry.
“The stains have come back”
Deep old stains wick up as the carpet dries. The machine did not fail — the stain travelled.
Once fully dry: one light pass with plain water and extra dry strokes. Do not add more soap.
“It leaks when we move it”
Water still sitting in the recovery tank or hoses.
Empty both tanks before any move, and run the vacuum for a minute first to pull the last water out of the hose.
Test first
Coloured carpets and sofas
Before you call us — the 30-second check
- Both switches on — VACUUM and PUMP?
- Recovery tank empty and lid seated?
- Connectors clicked fully home?
- Solution tank filled and trigger held?
All four yes and still stuck? Two minutes on WhatsApp usually sorts it.
Safety
Five rules — that’s all
- Plug straight into the wall — no extension leads.
- Switch off and unplug before opening tanks or touching underneath.
- Never run the pump dry — if the spray fades, refill before carrying on.
- Indoors only, and never pick up anything flammable.
- Damp carpet is slippery where it meets hard floor — mind the doorways.
End of hire
Before we collect — two minutes
- 1Empty and rinse BOTH tanks. Recovery water goes down an outside drain or the toilet.
- 2Flush the lines: a little clean water in the solution tank, spray through the wand for 30 seconds.
- 3Coil the hoses and cable loosely; keep the wand and upholstery tool together.
- 4Leave everything dry and upright, ready by the door if access is tight.
